Tim has just returned from his fifth succesful summer in the Antarctic - only to find snow on the ground! Just when he thought he'd escaped.

He has been working as a contract mountaineer guiding a group of seven geologists carrying out research into the evolution of Mt Discovery and Minna Bluff over the last 11 million years from a remote field camp.

He went on to work on Mt Erebus as part of a small team trying to image the insides of the active volcano using explosives and seismic equipment. Drilling holes and blowing them up again - can't be bad!

Now he's back to Britain he has the unenvious task of sorting through more than 3000 images from his travels so he can refresh the website.
