BAS Pilot Ian Potten has his hand on the throttle as he leaves Fossil Bluff on Alexander island. BAS Twin Otter planes operate with skis and wheels whilst working in the Antarctic, enabling them to land on snow, blue ice and the gravel runway at Rothera Station.
